on Never Being Happy

the good news: my devendra banhart album came in and it is delicious folk music.

the bad news: omg the cure just re-released seventeen seconds, faith and pornography with bonus material and stuff and i dont have any of those albums and i want them SO BAD.

i cant believe i havent listened to all those lps my uncle gave me at ALL yet.

i have a brilliant idea for a shirt to make.

actually i have two. squee.

i have been listening to the beta band a lot recently, which is a good thing to do. they make some of the most creative music ive ever heard.

i dont think i like the fiery furnaces very much. they make annoying music. i do, however, like the third "act" of chief inspector blancheflower, the part about the fellow's younger brother dating his old love. the rapid-fire lyrics are wonderful and it has a great, realistic feeling to it. and i must say it's kind of sweet that the songs by this band have "acts."

why am i here?

music: the beta band

See, I told you, fiery furnaces are half good, half make my ears bleed.

man, i totally wrote this before you told me that.

but yeah.

josh mentioned them to me the other morning, actually. it was kind of weird. we were walking into school and he was like "hey, do you listen to the fiery furnaces?" and im like, why yes. and he said he had, wouldnt you know it, chief inspector blancheflower stuck in his head.

i <3 anecdotes... sigh.

i hate myself.
